Transfer points

Only if you can transfer them to MY son! Ha

Togwotee is spot-on.
Your points are yours and yours alone.

Thanks guys I was hoping for better news I have a elderly gentleman that has like 17 or 18 sheep point and he thinking of hanging it up due to health and hate for them to go to waste.

Find an outfitter and unit you can ride horse to em. The same thoughts crossed my mind as well, at least then maybe one of my nephews could enjoy all these points!:D

If he can hang in there a few more years he might draw area 5 , lots of older hunters can handle that unit.

I suspect we'll see more and more of this.

Right now the attrition rate is pretty dang low but with the COST of the hunt and tag price along with a guy's old age, we'll see guys dropping out.

Attrition will certainly go up dramatically in the next few years IMHO.

Even some of the highest points holders are just sitting on their points pile instead of hunting. Cost and age will keep many of them from hunting! I didn't want that to happen to me so I bit the bullet and endure the pain of the almighty dollar.

Sorry, but I'm glad sheep points cannot be transferred. It would spawn a cottage market for brokering points and the value would be extreme! Points would become even more of a damned game than it is now!

Have him apply and get the permit and then donate the permit to a disabled vet. He will have to pay for the permit, but it would not be "wasting" the points.

Or you can just accept the fact that you were playing a game of chance and just take the loss. Why screw another hunter sitting on the same number of points just to feel "like you got something"?
