LAST EDITED ON Sep-13-17 AT 11:28AM (MST)[p]On my 4th day scouting the beautiful White Mountain country. Found several of my same spots from my last hunt here in 2002. Lots of water everywhere. All seeps had water coming down from even further up. Located many killer wallows but every time with a trail cam overlooking! 2 1/2 miles in yesterday...........trailcam! Had several growlers within 100 yards but I dare not get any closer. None busted me. Best one viewed so far was a 360" 7x7.

With all the trail cams I expect to have company Friday morning.

We found the same in 5bs. I didn't get a tag but buddy has one for cow. Cameras are everywhere. Just get up at 3am and get to the spot you want first. They come to it later tough sh!t. Good luck.

>Good luck! How did your deer
>hunt end up?

The deer hunt was very dead compared to last year. I'm sure mostly because I got there so late. When I got to my camp I noticed someone else had been camped in my spot and likely been pressuring the immediate area for a week. The mature bucks were nowhere to be seen. The most bizarre part was I spotlighted for 7 miles and saw zero mature bucks where last year I'd seen 200-300. Go figure. So I decided my time would be better invested scouting for my elk hunt. Paid off so far. I was in screaming bulls all morning. Got within 100 yards of a 350". Trying some new spots.

find a good one.

The year I had my tag an outfitter had close to 400 cameras out. I also heard a trail cam supplier traded cameras for an elk hunt.
I would suspect 100% coverage of the Bulls in that unit.

Anybody know of someone with horse packout services in unit 1? My last two day resort is to hunt a dependable water source in the Mount Baldy Wilderness, but I'd need help with that as it's 3 miles in. Mild terrain open pastures/old forest service road.

I got a card from an AJ's Big Game Retrieval but he won't quote me a price. What up with that? Route is on a known distance paved road, then 2.6 miles in. Not rocket science. Just want a price in advance. Thanks.

Not sure if you're still looking for pack-out service, but if so, you might post this question over on coueswhitetail.com. Lots of AZ locals there. ;-)

I had a Unit 1 bull tag last September. Hunt of a lifetime! Hope the last couple of days are good to you! Good luck!
