Unit 21 deer report......

The first of the does just showed up on 10-12-07. About a week later then they usually do.

I have yet to see a buck in the lower country, the deer are few.

I work right in the heart of the unit, and spend a lot of time scouting.

Just giving you folks 'heads up' that have a tag. I would try to focus on the higher elevations. Texas mountain, Rabbit mountain, Oil Springs, the higher elevations on the East Douglas side etc. Hopefully they will show up in the next couple of days, but like I say, they started a week later then normal.

Has there been any weather last few days? Any sign of the bucks coming down?

Over the weekend it seems that the does were starting to pile into the lower country. We saw small bucks... but nothing of any size. This is a TOUGH 2nd season rifle!
