Any other areas where there are Coues in 28 other than Mule Creek Pass? Peloncillo Mtn or Fishook Wilderness? Any other options ….not too excited about 500 hunters overwhelming init 27 on opening day. I’ll hunt 28 if its a viable option.

No, on the Peloncillo's, not that there might be a WT or two there but it would be a complete waste of time ( and really from the middle ish area of 28 south is not WT country.
Yes, on the Fishhooks. Most of the area in the north end of 28 up against the rez will hold WT, behind Fort Thomas all the way to the Clifton/Morenci and beyond. There is a few in the black hills around Guthrie peak down to the Gila.
There will also be WT south of Black Jack/Coal creek along the NM state line (tough/thick country though).
And....just because most folks will be in 27 doesn't mean you can't go get "lost" in the Blue. 500 tags and two massive units will have plenty of "elbow room"if you get away from the roads.

Thanks for the response, made the decision to lace up the boots and get the backpack out, heading to the ”Blue” to hike in for the duration.
