Hey guys and gals I'm back. I missed last season due to changing jobs because of the pandemic. 1st hunting season missed in 23 years! Anyhow...changing things up this year and trying a totally new area to me. Going up this weekend for some scouting, then plan on hunting the last week of the season. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Hoping for a decent buck. I know the genetics aren't all that great in the area, but thinking with a little hard work and serious glassing we might find a shooter. Going to the Hayden Creek area. Pm me if you have any info. Spent Oct 1-3 up Hayden creek, high and low, early and late. Absolutely zero deer! The only deer I saw were in the private along the Lemhi. I think you are in for some long deer-less glassing sessions. I did see some chuckars and lots of elk

We were up there the same time, but only spent the morning and and evening there. Same report, though we did see a doe and 2 fawns. We moved down closer to Leadore and found a lot more deer there. The problem I see is that they close the roads that get you in the high country where I assume the bucks are. Oh well we are going to try another area the last week of the season.
