Unit 30 Deer & winter kill from this past winter

I currently have 3 points for this unit, I have heard and saw on the news this year that the deer herd just got nailed this past winter. What have you guys been seeing this year in your scouting and hunts? Are the deer number noticeably down, and what about the amount of big bucks that you are seeing?

Did the southern portion get hit harder with snow than the north end of the unit?

I am still planing on putting in for this unit again this next year, unless I hear that this would be a waste of my points.

I have no firsthand knowledge yet this year, but the 07/08 winter was the killer in NW and central Colorado. I believe that last winter was ok.

Winter 08-09 was pretty mild in unit 30. You must have been hearing info from the 07-08 year as was pointed out.

Totally different area. But I got back from a Gunnison area (supposed to be the area hit the hardest in 07-08 winter) muzzleloader hunt a few days ago. I don't think the winter was as bad advertised, or at least not bad enough to make me consider not hunting...
