Hi all, I drew a cow elk tag for unit 34. Type 6
I'm looking for any information that may help.
1. How is access south of rt 16
Into big horn wilderness.
2. How is access off of hazelton rd and campsite
Spots.
3. What altitude should I be focusing on.
I know this is just a cow tag but
Any info is appreciated.
This has to be on the big horn forest area south of rt 16.
Thanks in advance fellas.

If true its my mistake. Is it worth going if I hunt on blm or state ?
There is much less elevation off of big horn.
I appreciate all advice,

Ok now I understand, I think I read it wrong. My fault.
Are there elk on blm in unit 34 in early september ?
The elk usually get there the afternoon of September 4th. The only exception is if it rains on September 3rd, then they postpone their trip until the morning of September 5th. This also depends on the amount of rain on September 3rd. @SS! likes to use the 3” per day rule. If it rains 3” on September 3rd, the elk cows will wait 3.3 days before leaving the NF, which means you should get there around 11:20am on September 6th. Bulls use a whole different set of rules.
Hope this helps.

Get some maps, binoculars, and a rifle. Then go to your unit and HUNT. I think Biden has ruined everybodies crystal balls so we are of no help.....

Shame on you fellows for not giving the new guy (that apparently can't read the regs) exactly what he wanted, exactly when he wanted!
All he wants is a location, elevation, and campsites.

I didn't try to help or hurt but I'll wear my "disgrace" like a badge of courage if you wish?.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Be safe and have a good hunt!

“What altitude” is a pretty good indication somebody is spending too much time watching the wrong hunting videos.
.....all the supercub and helicopter scouting I've done has been best from 150 to 400 feet altitude... : )
