Unit 44 Cow Elk

Me, my son, and my wife all drew our first elk tags, its my wife and son's first hunts ever, we drew late cow for Nov 11th. I've hear 44 to be a good unit, im looking for any pointers as this is also my first elk hunt and first time in this unit, are there any general areas that would be a good place to start looking? Thanks for any tips!

So today went up couch summit and looked all over, didn't see anything, ended up finding out i was in unit 43 not 44 most of the day, think im gonna check out cannonball mtn opening day.

If you entered through couch summit you were on the border of 44/43. south is 44, north is 43.
