Unit 521

Hey guys new here on MM. I have a question for you CO residents. I live in So.UT. I ve hunted spike elk here for 12 years and I have been wanting to take the plunge to hunt in Co. for about 6 years but I just haven't made it happin yet. Anyway next year is my year, I'm going to do it. So I have done some homework with maps and phone calls to the DWR and I think that 521 might be a good area to try? I have been looking at maps of the Electric Mountain and Muddy Basin areas. My qestion or questions rather is this: Is this unit decent to hunt? I'm not picky I just want an oppertunity to hunt more than spikes. I am willing to work for an elk I just need a little guidence. Also I was thinking of the archery hunt so that it may be a little easier to locate elk when they're talking. Is the achery hunt a good choice for my first trip to CO. next fall or would my time and money be better invested in a rifle tag? If there are any units that might be better for a newbie to Co. please share.
Also any advice to better prepare my self for a hunt over there would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.
