Hunting first rifle. Looking to see how the herd is for first rifle. 71/73 border. First time

The herd numbers are increasing due to very limited cow tags. But due to liberal bull tags (and OTC bull tags for later seasons) bulls are pretty few and far between (around 15/100 cows). That said, there are a fair number of last year’s spikes that become rag horns this year. All that to say: shoot the first legal bull you see. And if you have any access to private land, your odds would increase. Good luck
