units 23 & 24 deer second season, public land.

Nobody talks about these units? Why? Got a buck & doe tag this year for these units and nobody hunt them? Too high elevation, no public land, not good muledeer habitat? Thanks first timer here & hunting big game.

These units arent known for trophy deer, thats why you dont hear much about them. Up until this year the DOW gave out thousands of tags. I have a 3rd season tag for these GMU's just because there wasnt much to choose from.

On a positive note, the whacked the tag numbers big time. For 3rd season they went from 3,845 buck tags issued last year to 900 this year, so there should be a little less orange on the hillsides. The cutbacks are due more to a change in modeling methods than winterkill
