I know many of you have been watching and waiting for pics on this thread and were sad to see it locked when people became childish with the name calling and such. Let’s keep this thread clean so we can just truly enjoy this accomplishment!
PT Jeffers was hesitant to post the pictures and rightly so! Once you see this beauty, you will understand why he was holding out!
I am the actual hunter that harvested this animal, and the time has come to share it with the world! As the lucky hunter I am going to forego official B/C scoring, I was going to refrain from posting selfies all over the net and not attempt to gain pro staff positions or endorsements, Why? I just didn’t plain care, plus I wanted to avoid the predictable internet kangaroo court, some "head" thief, baseless accusations of wrong doing from jealous hunters plus the obligatory criminal investigation and harassment by G & F
Some might say “Good for him” but I have since changed my mind after extensive pressure from everyone who has seen this buck!
Special thanks to all those who helped, I couldn’t have done it without them! Especially to my good friend PT Jeffers, he was the scout/guide/spotter on this hunt and since he’s not a WYOGA welfare bum, all he got out of the deal was a pat on the back and thanks!
A buddy of mine is an official B&C guy and he double checked his measurements. Some might think that some of the snarky and jealous comments here cement the fact that the smart thing to do was to lay low. Other then instant infamy, why go through the hassle? I don’t need the fame and surely don’t need any money (well , ok, I’ll take the money, but that’s all! No fame for me!) ...........besides, other then some write up in Eastman's or something, there's not a huge upside. But I as the hunter decided that the world deserves to see this toad anyway!
So, the time has come!
I do need to correct a few minor details: 1) this buck was taken last year, 2) it was taken in Oregon 3) it was a general season buck (I know this may nuke Oregon hunting forever, there will be a massive increase in pressure after this, but I cannot tell a lie!) 4) It may look like an on Oregon Blacktail, I have it on good authority (PT Jeffers) that this is just a displaced Muley. 5) I can honestly say that I have never killed a buck like this before! It was the last day I had to hunt and I was just hoping to kill my first Oregon Blacktail for a little (!) meat in the freezer and out walked this guy, he’s clearly an instant taker for any self respecting Oregonian! Sometimes the stars align and lightning strikes!
I know this will earn me infamy and jealousy but it’s a risk I’m willing to take.
We didn’t see many of this type of buck taken in the past but with the way things are going with exceptional deer management on virtually every state, especially Oregon, I think we can honestly expect to see more of this caliber of trophy buck being taken on a regular basis!
People just cannot pass up a buck like this when they see it!

And for perspective, the dried, half-euro mount next to my dog, (I mean my wife’s dog, an Irish Wolf Hound)
As you can see, it may lose a tiny bit of score net vs. gross but I think it will be less than an inch overall!
Unbelievable buck and let me just say I am humbled and privileged (mostly humbled) to be at the center of this exceptional story! Thanks so much to my good friend PT Jeffers for his help guiding and dragging out, all he wanted was just a pat on the back and a thanks, what a great guy!
