utah muzzleloader hunt

I just returned from the hunt with a 3x3. I got close to a large 4x4 but had a no fire. Has anyone had problems with percussion cap protectors? It turns out that I had a cap protector that was thicker than the rest in the bag, combined with my side hammer not being perfectly aligned, the hammer struck the plastic edge and caused the no fire. Didn't notice the problem at the range when sighting in. Oh well, that is part of the hunt and learning how to shoot a muzzleloader.

i have not used the cap protectors, but a buddy of mine had a similar problem with them.
