Utah State Representative Carl Albrecht has sponsored HB 125, which would allow the DWR to immediately remove predators from targeted areas where deer herds are struggling. See https://www.gohunt.com/read/news/ut...edator-populations-to-help-big-game#gs.wnmaj8 The specific language of his bill can be found here: https://le.utah.gov/~2020/bills/static/HB0125.html
I know that the subject of predators is often debated on this site. I personally believe that predators have a significant effect on our deer populations and can be particularly problematic when a specific herd is struggling and trying to rebound. HB 125 is coming up for a vote later today or early tomorrow, and there are a number of representatives that are undecided. If you support this bill, please consider sending a polite email to your State Rep supporting HB 125. You may also want to include the following State Reps, who I understand may be undecided on the issue:
[email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]
We all like to whine and complain about the current state of hunting and our game herds. This is a chance to make a difference. Act quickly as a vote may be coming soon. Thanks for your support!
