I am looking to purchase a tripod for my 5 pound spotting scope and I was wondering if anyone has used this model before and if it is stable enough for a spotting scope. I will only be using it in a sitting/kneeling position so I will not have the legs extended all the way out. I would like to buy one that is less then 18 inches when folded up so I can carry it in a back pack.
