Velvet Bulls Draw Tag - Post Em

Who’s got a velvet bull on a draw tag? This is opening day in Nevada, Aug 16th 2017 - backpack DIY with a good buddy. First time ever stepping foot in that country. Unfortunately by the time we got him taken care of on the side of the mountain and the pac out, there wasn’t a lot of it left in tack. He’s hard horned at his final resting place.

Nice velvet bull. dealing with a velvet buck is hard enough without messing up the velvet. I can't imagine trying to keep velvet on a big bulls rack like that while getting it skinned, caped, and packed out!!!!

The velvet on this bull was in perfect condition pre-harvest, that quartering away shot is lethal extremely, as he rolled through the blow down on the side of that steep drainage, he beat it up a little. The extraction was rough on the old velvet, and as you can see what it look like by the time I got to the truck.

I shot the one on the left although these two velvet slick 6’s were very similar, to the point where it made no difference.

Exceptional tag for big bulls. Seen some studs in there 2021 archery deer hunting.
