Vernon deer

Looking for advice on an outfitter for Vernon rifle or muzzle hunt this upcoming season. My dad (age 66) has the points to draw either and I'd like to give him the best chance possible at a good buck. Is there an outfitter or two that stand out in that area?

Surprised you haven't been verbally destroyed yet for even contemplating spending 17 points on a Vernon tag. I say hunt where you think you guys will have the most fun. I had the rifle tag 7-8 years ago and had a blast there. Didn't shoot a monster but it was one of the funnest hunts I've been on. I hope to draw it again in the next 4-5 years. Good luck!

I know of at least 5 guys on this sight that have very good knowledge of the unit and will help you out if your Dad draws. You will have plenty of help...shouldn't need to pay a guide either.

You?re going to spend the same amount of money on an outfitter taking you hunting in a top hunt, as you are in a mediocre unit. The difference will be in the quality of animal that gets harvested.

If you've made your mind up on going with an outfitter don't waste his points and money on the Vernon. So many better options within his grasp with that many points.
