Moosie, you're a pretty good guy but ironically, the timing of this post was pretty poor for some of us.

One of the largest fires going in Southern California (the Ramona/San Diego fire) was in fact started by a hunter, who's now under arrest for it. Reports are that he was lost, started a signal fire, and it got out of control. 5 lives and 500 homes lost so far (my sister's house possibly included, she and her horses were evacuated this morning and she has no idea if her home is burned down or not as yet) in that particular fire.

Worse yet, comments from patrons at the store my wife works at today about the hunter starting the fire were "yeah, big burly hunter getting lost in the woods, and look what happens". P.R. like that makes us all look bad.

Sorry to put a bum rap on your post, but like I said, the timing wasn't so good, least for me........

Make that count up to 1500 homes destroyed now and over half a million acres burned. This is the worst disaster San Diego has ever experienced. It is hard to breathe and is very dark outside due to all the smoke. You can't even go outside without a breathing mask on. I have already had people in my office come up to me (they know I hunt) and ask me about the "hunter who started the fire with his rifle." It just goes to show how ignorant people are. They hear the word "hunter" and automatically associate it with something bad, even without knowing any of the real facts. This could have just as easily been started by a hiker, or mountain biker, etc. But nope, we'll take the rap on this one. We don't need this after just last year all our National Forests were shut down immediately before deer season due to fire danger. This is just another feather in the anti's cap.

True about the San Diego Area.... Also the San Bernadino area is On fire. Big Bear... which is one of My favorite places to visit and snow board. They fear the Fires Meeting up which they says is a possibility. God Bless all of them....Just seriously Guys keep all the ppl in your prayers at night!

My folks are down in Long Beach visiting my Grandma. They say that the ash and soot falling out of the air is almost like when Mt. St. Helens blew.
