Anyone have a reasonably priced flashlight recommendations? Looking for light weight preferably aaa or aa batteries something for the pack on backpacking deer hunts. How about head lamps? I have been using some super cheap head lamps just curious what everyone else is using these dats with so many on the market.

I carry two headlamps w fresh aaa batteris in them. One is an inexpensive energizer headlamp. I swear it works just fine and battery life is long. Brighter lamps just crush batteries, imo. Lots on the market, depends on what $ you have to spend

I also carry two lights. A Petzl for around camp and an Ay Up for when I need powerful rechargeable lights. Run time on low ~400 lumens is 8 hours. I also use the Ay Up system as a helmet light for night riding a mtn bike.

For backpacking, my primary light is a Black Diamond Spot 325 headlamp. It's around $39 and takes 3 AAA batteries. Bright enough for my needs and also has other modes to meet your requirements

I also carry a cheap penlight and headlamp that I bought from Costco but they're really only for backup.

I love the Coast headlamps I bought at Costco. 2 pack was about $24. 3AAA, 3 brightness settings, zoom-able, includes additional little red and green beams

I would advise headlamps. They are relatively cheap, batteries last a long time, and your hands are always free. Its also nice having a red light option for hiking into country with game.
