I just picked up a slik cf734. For a head I am using a manfrotto 128rc. Works great with my straigh kowa 88mm. I am 6 foot 1 and can use it standing or sitting. Its not the lightest one out there but it will collapse down small enough to go in my pack. I had a manfrotto 290 Xtra before and it was very stable but heavier and didn't fit in my pack. My brother uses a slik cf634 and it is lighter but not as stable with a big spotter
