Ok, I finally found a water tank that is showing quite a bit of coues deer sign and traffic on it. I have been watching it for the last 5-6 weeks. I went up this last weekend and there are cattle all over the place. I still see some deer sign but not near as much as before. Mostly because there are just so many cow tracks.
Deer season opens friday and I planned on sitting a ground blind on this tank all weekend. My question is, what will the deer do? Will they move on like many elk and mule deer do or will they keep coming to the same tank. I have heard they are pretty habitual and they will do the same thing nearly all the time. I am pretty new to hunting coues deer so I'm just not sure what to do. There is another tank about a a half mile away but it has cattle on it too. closest water I know of with no cattle is 1.5 miles away.
