What would he score? (The one that got away)

Hunted this buck but could not make it happen. I think he’s a pretty good buck for the unit. I did shoot some pictures and video of him at least. I think he’s a younger buck that could really be something in a year or two.

My guess is right about 170”. He’s lacking mass and width but just a beautiful typical that is going to haunt me for awhile. Perfectly symmetrical (minus sticker and tiny inline on the right) with eye guards.

He’s got a tough few months of rifle seasons to survive but with some luck I may look for him if I can get the tag again.

I watched him go from calm and feeding with his buddies, started acting a bit odd, then stripped his velvet and ran like he’s lost his mind for a bout a mile through thick brush never to been seen again. Hopefully he stays in the thick stuff and comes back next year.
