I have found whitey sheds around christmas but I really get excited about the middle of January. I like to look when there has been snow on the ground for a while. They really stick out.
I find alot in semi open wooded areas, it seams like the big boys like to hang where they can see a little better or so it seems. Along fences are a pretty good bet and around haystacks and feeding areas. I concentrate on bedding areas first then on the trails between feeding and bedding areas and then lastly on feeding areas. I seem to find the most in the beddin areas thats why I start there. Seems to be that way for elk, and muleys as well.
Good luck and get ready for some shedhunting its only a few weeks away...
