Who actually put in for Wasatch Late Elk?

Just curious who all put in for the Wasatch Late Elk and how many pnts did you have?

I have 5 resident pnts.

My brother-in-laws mom put in with 16 points. Yes it's a lot for the tag but they live on the unit and want to hunt a late herd they watch.

from the number of tags they want to give half the state should draw they killed of all the deer may as well start on the elk

Going to be an interesting draw for sure. I put in for ML. They took quite a few tags out of ML for the Late hunt. I'm willing to bet some guys with single digit points will draw the Late hunt. I think most double digit point holders are going to stay with the unit they have been applying for.

The late hunt sure threw a wrench in my hopes for a ML tag, I have 7 points.

Good luck to all

Remember, half the tags will be random draw tags and half will be drawn to the highest point holder group.

I suspect it will take at least 12 (probably more like 13) resident points to get into the bonus points pool.

I have no feel for what it would take for a NR to draw the tag.

This is just my thoughts and it will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

So berryb you never mentioned how many points you have towards this draw? Just curious

I didn't understand the reduction in muzzleloader tags due to the late hunt, etc. Probably won't draw that tag now...we shall see.

The last "sleeper" in Utah was a late season, either sex, Dolores Triangle hunt in 1984. I killed a 30"+ mule deer buck on that hunt!

Hold the horse's!
Still has to pass the wild life board on May 2nd...

And , according to Packout on the UWN form, There is
now a "change proposal" in process going to the board,,
looks like this.

UDWR-proposal for Wasatch LE elk
164 Archery
242 Early Rifle
131 Late Rifle
98 ML
20 Premium

Change Proposal-
196 Archery
204 Early
107 Late
131 ML
17 Premium

Berry,
The proposed numbers keep the split as it was before the late hunt at 30% for archers 20% for muzzy and 50% for rifle. They are pushing this due to the fact the 3 new late hunts were added strictly to address overcrowding complaints by the rifle hunters as were other late hunts are to kill more bulls. This is the reason for the proposal to only split up the tags rifle hunters already had and not issue more.

Well I am more than happy to help you with simple math if you help me with my archery tag on the snatch I am hoping to draw. :)

Oh man, I'm hoping you draw! It's shaping up to be a great year!

The WB passed the proposed tag numbers. Looks like the early tag is going to take 14+ to draw and I imagine the late will be the same with approx. 200 on the early season and 100 on the late.

alpinebowman-

Did the WB adopt the DWR proposal or UBA's counter-proposal. In other words, did the archery and muzzleloader hunters lose tags to the late rifle hunt?

Hawkeye

Browning A-Bolt 300 Win Mag
Bowtech Destroyer
Winchester Apex .50 Cal

The revised tags numbers were accepted giving the 200 to the early rifle 107 to the late and no change to the archery or muzzy.
