Nice bull! I think he might score a little more. And 123 yd archery shot is a bit unethical unless the animal is standing still.

Well I disagree 123 is in range but
123 1/3 is unethical.
 
The nose on that thing makes him look like a hybred moose....Congrats on the fantastic kill and shot...HEHEHE
 
Way to go man..!! That is an outstanding bull... And I agree, the thing looks like a brown moose..!!

Also, I think you did the right thing letting him run away until he was over 100 yards. It's just not much sport to shoot em inside 100 yards these days. :)

Good looking Bull, Being a short range shooter he not to bad, I kind of like to see them get out there a ways before hitting them in the sweet spot. LR is for just anybody. LOL

It reminds me of a day I was up in a tree with libations. I moved and my 6-Pack of Colt 45 tall's fell. As I glanced down I see a 6x6 Mule Deer right below. The Beers landed right on his Skull, killing him instantly. The surprise..??... = not one Colt 45 Malt Liquor can leaked.

123 yards? Really? You could not get any closer? Unethical shot, ya you apparently got a good shot but who would even try that shot. So many things can happen, just looks like you would rather hunt for sport and for trophy than respecting the animal. All you who say 123 yards is a good shot you are a disgrace to hunting.

What is your arrow's kinetic energy at 123yds? that would be the deciding factor in ethical vs unethical. If you feel confident in your skills as an archer at 123yds running, as long as your equipment maintains adequate energy to ensure the animal doesn't suffer (as conveyed by a few earlier responses) then, yes it was an ethical shot.

Edit Addition: If you agree with the statement above, I would like to shake your hand. You, sir, are the top 0.1% of archers

Was the 123 1/3 yards the ranged distance, the distance when the arrow was released, or the distance when the arrow hit the bull? I guess I'm going to have to get a Prime bow!

I really would like to share the real story, maybe even the real score of this bull (if I ever do put a tape to him) but that will likely never happen here on MM. Maybe I'll run into a few of you and I'll share the story then.

I thought I laid the sarcasm on pretty strong along with the odd measurement total...Either way, thanks for the positive comments.

I tried to get closer but I didn't want the other hunter that had already snuck in to 35 yards of the bull to know I was there. I hurried and knocked an arrow and shot the bull before the other hunter could. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do

This was only made possible with KUIU gear... Before KUIU I was only able to make 115 yard running shots.
