Visiting the park for a few days with my wife on our anniversary before heading to Colorado for third season. Any places I could check out nearby in the afternoons to see mule deer?
Thanks

Just watch from the road. You’ll see plenty.

I saw the biggest deer I’ve ever seen on the hoof 10 yards off the road near the lodge in some trees a few years back.

”Visiting the park for a few days on my wife”

Sounds like quite an anniversary, doubt you’ll see many deer though.

By the lodge and down in the campgrounds. Head further east and go look at some sheep as well.

With the temps, the rut has not really kicked on yet but still some to easily see from the shuttle and a couple Springdale city bucks worth looking at. I live in the park and had the limited muzzy tag this year and definitely a down year and it’s still hot and dry.
