Understanding E-plus

On April 19, 2024 the NMDGF Commission met in Silver City, NM for the April Game Commission. The meeting was very informative and went in to detail and explanations about several items within the NMDGF, one of them being the Eplus program. explanation from NMDGF Chief Stuart Liley about the Eplus program and how it works and how tags are allocated and why some ranches don’t get any tags. I agree. Mr. Liley did a great job! Great info. Turns out NM is the only one of the major Western states that 55% of it’s tags go to the E-Plus Program as presented by SFW early on in this meeting shortly after Mr. Liley’s presentation during the public comments session!
Only Colorado has that same percentage however, that number of tags are sold OTC in which the disparity lies.
