Colorado OTC Elk

I invited my brother and childhood friend out to Colorado for the first rifle season in an OTC unit I always hunt with my bow.

I didn't have a tag, but took three days off work and we hunted four of the five days. I know the area like the back of my hand, and was their guide per say.

They ended up taking these two bulls. I don't think they realize how good these bulls are for CO, and especially a no point unit. I knew good bulls reside there, but I hadn't seen the quality like this in some time.

What you think?

OTC Public...those are great bulls! My neighbor took a awesome public land bull this year also. Those two guys are ruined for a lifetime.

Nice OTC Bulls, congrats to the hunters

I'm sure his OTC description referred to an "easily obtained leftover license"...you are correct in the fact that 1st Season Elk Only is all draw.

You are correct, the season that opened last Saturday (11th) is a draw only. So his friends were hunting with a rifle in the elk only draw only rifle season. What he said was that it is an OTC unit for bow hunting (which is what he hunts with)

Sorry, you're correct, OTC Archery, draw for rifle. They did have to put in.
