Maybe I'm bored. Maybe I should be working. Oh well! It's that time of year. I posted this topic in the AZ section a couple days ago, but let's open it up to everyone.

How many BP's and what did you put in for? Will this be your lucky year? Did Santa Claus write you on the naughty list?

I have 11 resident pts for elk and put in Archery Bull.

8 pts for antelope and put bonus pt only because I WILL get an elk tag this year!!

Fingers and toes are crossed.

14 BP antelope... just a BP for me this yr
8 BP deer.... not sure, north of the ditch prob
12 BP sheep.... whatever

Az Resident drew Deer, Elk and Antelope last year so the point building begins all over.
 
C3,you never know. The last time I drew a 6aS archery bull tag was six years ago with 0 points. I'm still trying to draw another one with seven points. Good luck.
 
11points 23North rifle and 6a south archery, just need to burn these points and chase an Arizonia bull!!!
 
0 points here this year. Starting to worry because my check still hasn't cashed yet. Friends at work say their's cashed a couple weeks ago.
 
7 Res Elk points - 10 Early, 5BS Gen. Never see the 10 tag, but hey, ya can't win if ya don't play. Prob draw the 5BS tag since I know nothing about the area. Got talked into that one. If not this year, then its early rifle only apps till I draw or die. I hunt CO every year so I drive a bit further, but I still get to hunt. Put meat in the freezer last year.

Only 4 Antelope points so a ways to go before I draw.

Non resident 8 bp for elk, unit 9 archery and 23n 2nd choice. 8 bp for antelope 18a. Just got an updated hunter safety card in my home state of Colorado so I can get the hunters ed bonus point in April so 10 points going into next year !!!
 
10 resident elk points, keeping my fingers crossed.

Sorry to disapoint you Elkcrzy but to get the hunter ed point you have to take the ARIZONA hunter safety class which is offered only in Arizona - not online. Your Colorado hunter ed don't mean nuthin' in Az. Still, 9 points puts you in the running for some pretty good tags. GOOD LUCK. Chip
 
He mentions he'll get the point in April, thats when Don Martin holds his class, perhaps that is what he means.



I only got 2 elk points for this year and 14 antelope points. Hopefully I can get a tag or two.

THey were out on MArch 26th last year and I believe the 23rd the year before. My guess is either the 20th or the 27th of this month.
 
7 res elk.. put in for 27 muzzy hunt..

7 res pronghorn.. I think I put in for 5.. not that it matters!!

I'm HOPING for an elk tag either here in AZ or NM this fall. We'll see!!
 
Just to clarify for other NR's, you can take the AZ online Hunter Safety class and then take the Field Day offered at several locations and times during the year to complete the requirement and obtain the point.

Don Martins class is all inclusive and easiest if it fits your schedule.
 
Waiting,waiting and waiting Got like a 35% draw chance But now if the app's are down this year(hear down by 1/4) it goes up to maybe into the 40% or 50% and I'm starting to like the odds.

one year i can't remember which (sometimers is setting in) they dropped them on weds..needs to be soon.went shed hunting to pass the time now its worse....ahhhhhhhhh..lol

If you have 3 might as well grab one more.
Just buy a bigger freezer and have many steak grill parties.Ha
 
real issue to have for sure...too many elk tags..lol hope its this week. not today..phone message keeps chaging back and forth...not that i call 5 times a day..lol come on come on come on...i am a junkie what can i say..

lol. I didnt get drawn for illegal alien this year either so I went poachin and dragged two of them to the county lockup two weeks ago. I missed the other seven as the jumped off into the woods with snow fallin and about two feet on the ground. I let em go they were only 60 miles from any town. Theyll be ok.
5 res elk points. thos are pretty good odds for a late season tag

Ya pretty much know that nothing is posted when you receivd an answer the first time you call. Usually get 10-15 busy signals before you get through.

If I remember correctly, last year the AZGFD loaded the results by phone message before they released the results on the net and it was around 10:30 AM when the results started to show. Maybe today, but most likely tomorrow or Friday.

Don't really NEED the results, I just WANT the results so I can plan my vacation days accordingly.

I don't know who the clown was in the AZGFD that decided to sent the News Release out via email today, but that was just wrong. I damn near drove off the road when the AZGFD came up on my Blackberry.

Thursday at this time people will be posting up units they drew.

ok lets be honest here how many times did you check here today looking for the results. i only looked 1 time, ok maybe 15 or so.

i just called for the um...to embarrased to admit time and the message says techno difficultys after you enter your info? thats 3 messages that revolve during the day..kind of thinking like a stalker maybe??? aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh just seems weird theres 3? years past you could tell by the message what was going on but those days the lines would go down from the titlewave of calls they would get i think thats why they keep it such a big guessing game to keep the titlewave a little more spread out.???

So every year I tell myself that I will not get caught up in the pre-notification Draw Results frenzy associated with Arizona elk. Of course this year I know there is absolutely no chance that I would draw since I drew a late archery tag last year, which by the way was a complete bust, but at least I got out and tried to chase a bull or two. Anyway, as I watch and read all the posts, I begin the feel the anxiety suffered by many, and I can't help but to feel some anxiety of my own. Again, I know I do not have any chance, but hey you guys are getting to me. In addition, I am begining to feel anxiety for my friends and family, who I do believe have a legitimate shot at getting a tag this year. Damn, you guys are getting me all worked up. It really is all your fault. I suppose I should simply shut off my computer, or not view this site for a few days. But this is where I find out when the results are available and now, as usual, you have got be hooked and all worked up. So who do I send the therapist bill to?
 
Dude, for the last 10yrs the G&F has always posted the results about a month early from the published results date. We're just used it being that way.
 
Doesn't anyone on here have a connection with someone in G&F? I was hoping to see something today. Nothing yet though. Last year it was out I believe the last Friday of March.

No tags for me or my wife. not a big surprise as I had a unit 10 archery bull tag last year and my wife put in for early rifle. But I did draw an archery bull hummingbird tag! so I'm pumped about that! No antelope either. boooooooooooo

7 HOURS OF CALLING BUT IT PAID OFF ARCHERY BULL UNIT 8. I HAVE A FRIEND WHOS 11 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER GOT EARLY RIFLE BULL UNIT 10 1ST TIME PUTTING IN.

Got thru first try at 12:40am, after about 3-1/2 hrs in the eve.Me and a buddy drew bow bull tags!! going to be a long summer!!
 
Got thru second time calling just now, it hurts more the second time hearing you did not draw take my advice don't go thru bad news twice.Ha
Congrats to those who drew unit 10 archery should be a great hunt.
 
He had 11 and put 10 first choice. I had 12 pts and had 10 as second choice. I still get to go elk hunting, just dont get to shoot the bow!
 
TipMOver, something sounds off. You said you put 10 second choice, but was it rifle or archery? If it was archery, could you have messed up on your application or your check? Also, you didn't mention if either of you were res or NR.

I'm not questioning your statement, but rather the draw. IF you are a res and put 10 archery with 12 points you would've been in the max point pool.

We're both NR's. All of our choices were archery. My first was 23N, 10 second. His was 10 first, then 8. The recording for mine told me "point for antelope, not drawn for elk". I only applied for an antelope point. Not sure if the recording would tell if rejected. I'll see soon enough when internet results are available.
 
Yes the recording would tell you if you were rejected. I was rejected for spring turkey and it told me so.

Oh well you will enjoy helping out in 10 the pressure will not be on you this year maybe we can draw next year with 13 points.Once we hit 15 it might work out.

23 Rifle bull tag. Sweet, last year I helped my buddy on the same hunt shoot a 335 bull. This year I get to pull the trigger.
 
my dream tag has finally found its way to the pocket.. hope I put it to good use!!

chipc, "sorry to disappoint you " ? No disappointment here I already knew that about Arizona. I'll be flying into Phoenix the 17th driving to Kingman and taking the class w/ my son. Going into next years draw with 10 points!!!!, No luck this year but then again I wasnt expecting any either. Good luck, Gary
