Hello,
I have finally drawn a unit 22 archery elk tag. My first and probably last in Az as I am 63 years old. I am hoping to get some general info as to the overall quality of this unit.
Not looking for any secret spots.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks before hand and good luck with the draws this year.

Unit Quality=Poor to horrible. One of the lower end units in this state for elk. Hunt hard, you should be able to get on bugling bulls and get some chances at some 6x6 bulls. Quality compared to other surrounding units like 23 is embarrassing. 22 gets hammered.

I gave the tag back due to back surgery. I have the archery tag now. I am wondering if I burned my 20 points on a good unit

There are always those that laugh.... Sad but, unlike the good folks here, they are ants at a picnic.
Thank you Brother.

Cousin Eddy........One of my favorites...... Your Dad , I presume.
I honestly thought you were joking. They’re your points, I woulda picked another unit, actually any other unit in the entire state, if I had 20 points to burn. There’s a bunch of elk in there but they manage that unit more like a raghorn hunt in CO than any other AZ unit.
