Just got a call on my cell phone from Browtine. I'm thinking, what is up that he would be calling me? Could the results be posted?...sure enough, he tells me I got the Fishlake Late Elk Permit.
Thanks to you guys who told them you didn't want a permit!
I really appreciate it, and if anyone wants to tag along, you are more than welcome!!!!!!

Hey Rick, come shake my hand at the Richfield expo will ya? That should be just the right timing to have some of that luck rub off. You draw that Henrys tag and you will definately need some help. I am planning on my own Henrys tag this year. I'm gonna draw the tag for those smaller animals down there.

Jim, I'll definately come by and see what I can do to help you out. That smaller Henry permit would be awesome to have. I'm holding out for an archery permit. The way my luck has been lately, who knows? And to think I wasted a week of vacation floating on the ocean?????

Oh, as for that week on the ocean, That actually buy's you more time on the mountain this year! Good luck!

I applied for that unit in the LE Elk draws, chances are slim but somebody is going to be lucky! :)
 
Way to go AR!!! After you called me last night I penciled in those dates on my agenda. I hope there will be room at the fire for an old broke down cowboy/elk hunter. We'll need to get you a load worked up for your 300!!!

j/k man!!!! I'll be happy just to be out there hunting, and spending some quality time with friends and family. If a monster happens to want to become a trophy on my wall, so be it. If not, I will still be a happy camper! :)
 
Bigtime Congrats on the tag!!!! It couldn't have gone to a more deserving person. Kill a monster and post some pics for the rest of us.
 
I dont know about you rick but summer can not come soon enought for me, I will be scouting the crap out of the unit as soon as possible as i have never hunted it before.

Browtine, you are more than welcome to come down. FLEH said we could set up camp at his place right before you get to Fishlake. There are a bunch of guys who have said they wanted to go. It would be good to have a nice fun camp and lots of help if we can find a bull and put him on the ground.
Pencil it in and if you can make it work, great...
 
WOW...sounds like I better buy more property up there!!! We should have a full load!!!

We are going to do a bunch of improvements at the property this summer too. We just bought a new Modular Home and are going to put it there for a cabin and then improve all the trailer sites. So.....If anyone has an excavator or loader they want to borrow....let me know....Rick..I just might be looking for a nice end dump or dump truck to haul some gravel up for new septic systems too!! :)

How about getting Dan to lend you his laptop and you could keep us all informed like he did on his hunt. We all got to go on that hunt!

So, I could be like the official camp photographer and documentarian? I doubt it would work, though, as he'll probably actually kill and elk, and the suspense won't last long enough.

You better start telling these guys to stay home! You know how I get when it comes to "camo gatherings?" I dont own one stitch of the stuff!

You will do better on your own than having this group around! Just dont get nervous and pound a 383 dink! If you want help I can probably arrange it with work?
 
Hey ktc, If you can get away from "work" you are more than welcome to come down. Sounds like the weekend will be one big camp and cookout!
And I can probably set you up with some camo coverings!
I'm sure after the weekend ends, I can try to find something to kill....and I'm looking for something on the smaller side, and easy to get out! LOL...
