What's this bull score?

I've got a premium archery elk tag this year and I want to be sure I know what I'm looking at when I see a good bull. Below is a youtube link that someone (not me) posted and I'd like some help scoring this bull. My buddy and I are differing by almost 20 inches and I'd like the help of those on this site to see who is closest.

Thanks

I enjoyed all 5 min 56 seconds of that video. What the story on how you got it? Is it your cattle ranch or something?

That bull is 360

I know nothing about the bull or video. I found it on youtube one day while browsing. I have no idea where it is either. Looks like it could be somewhere in NV, UT or AZ.

You will know a big bull when you see him. If you are dead set on a 350+ type of bull you will know it. If you try to convince yourself he is big he probably isnt. If you see him and all you know is he needs to die he will probably exceed 350. Look at lots of pictures with known scores then go have some fun.

I would say in the 350 range

maybe a shade lower, I would shoot him in a heart beat...any season, anywhere

LAST EDITED ON Aug-10-09 AT 10:58PM (MST)[p]I'vr been watching every video I have religiously. I estimated the bull in the video at 360"+ while a buddy said smaller than 350. Glad to see other MM'ers are in agreement with me!

RE: I would say in the 350 range

I know it is hard to get all caught up in the scoring thing on a LE hunt. I know I would. if it were me I would just shoot one of the biggest bulls I scouted. then put a tap on him. in all reality most guys on these le units dont kill 350 plus bulls good luck hope you are one of the ones that do.

I think the bull in the clip goes 350 or higher.

Archery is a year round commitment!!

352 is my score. A nice bull. One more year and he would be a world class bull probably in the 380s. imo

LAST EDITED ON Aug-11-09 AT 09:05AM (MST)[p]I'd guess 355-360. He has everything you want, but is maybe a bit low on mass. A fantastic bull!

BTW, what was your guess?

He's a shooter. What more do you need. He is a little willow horned and would put on more mass in another year but I would still take him. Especially with a bow.

Good width and beam length. Good 5ths. Ave 4ths. Weaker 2nds and 3rds. Less than ave mass. Beatiful bull. 350-360 my guess. A shooter bull with a archery tag, unless you have shot many bigger. Score isn't everything. If you like it shoot it. It's 70 inches above P&Y book. Good luck.

I think the 3rds are a bit weak, but he is probably a 350 bull. It also looks like there may have been a 7th point on the one side......

Great bull thanks for the clip....

I don't know how all you guys score, but here's my numbers on him. I think his spread and length more than make up for the weak 3rds.

G1 - 20
G2 - 16
G3 - 13
G4 - 22
G5 - 17
Mass 25
Beam 50
Spread 44

For 370

Please let us know when he hits the dirt :)

Cheers,
Pete
