Anyone confirm or deny, or better yet got picts of the 390 opening day kill on the desert......

CONFIRMED! Have pictures and won't post them. The hunter is as humble as they come. This is his first animal with a bow. I'm so happy for him and nobody deserves it more than he does. He's a fellow MM member too.

Congrats to your bud, 1st animal with a bow...Thats awesome!

"Now we come to the most important pre-season question. Do you just want to go elk hunting, or do you want to bring one back? If you desire the latter, there is no substitute for hard work. The bigger your goal, the harder the work required to get there. Good luck!" - Cameron R. Hanes

OH YEAH!!! Attaboy Steve!! Gorgeous!!!!! Let's hear about it eh??????? And a field photo on the ground will keep me awake till the season's over.....

I can not wait till i finally draw that tag.. Good to see a SWD bull that carries the awesome front end all the way back. I've seen alot of bulls out there with 380" front ends, but crappy backs and end up in the 340"s. Congrats to the hunter of makin the best of an awesome tag

Congrats to the hunter and all those involved. I love to see big bulls come out of the desert. Practically out of my back yard.

Hard work, persistence, time, and change of company finally paid off for SM you deserve it.awesome bull hope to see you next year.
and more to come from SWD

The bull was killed up willow creek on the wah wah range. But tell me was he "guided" or not....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm something smells like fish no bull......

You forgot patience and patience. He's eaten two Premium tags the last two years. That's two more big bulls on the mountain for everybody else. Thanks Mo. Change of company? I thought he still has the same company, Morisse Logging?

Hell, he had to do it himself. Couldn't get a good bull killed with the crew he had prior to buying the tags on his own.

BTW, where the heck is the picture of the bull.

Who's in charge of removing posts or pictures?

I seen Steve hunting on the Frisco's, might have to ask Steve where he killed it. ( Like he would tell you anyway).

Very nice bull with a bow!!! Great job Steve!!!

O thanks CW and those NV tags too since you mention it . this guy is the king (in my book)when you eat those tags to get an awesome bull like this .not Logging Co. Hunting Co.

BIGRACKS,

You ever heard the saying "You don't know your ass from a hot rock"? Steve has killed two bigger bulls with "the crew he had prior" and when he decided to "DIY" in '07 "the crew he had prior", with Mo's help, guided the #2 P&Y bull in the state 415 net. Biggest bull ever taken off the SWD. Ask him how many 390 bulls he's passed on, since you know him so well. What does it matter anyway? He killed one of the biggest bulls out there with a bow and with only 1/3 of "the crew he had prior".

Oh, hunting company. Which one did he change to?

YEP, Killed it opening morning too.

Never heard your little "hot rock" saying. WHATEVER!!!

If I was talking to you, I would have addressed my message to you.

I heard you were only the Camp Cook anyway, so what do you know?

LOL...Call me what you want. "What do I know" just the facts from being there in the flesh.

ya the friscos is where its at, hopefully everyone hunts there this year ;) peak freak, is your name Jesse?

LAST EDITED ON Aug-19-09 AT 10:49PM (MST)[p]No peak freak isn't Jesse. Jesse goes by elkoholic on here.

I only know 1 thing for sure, that is one hell of a bull. I do want to know if Mr. SM was guided or not, and who was the "crew" if he was? Peakfreak, you must know?

Hey Peakfreak,
Word on the street is that you cook some mean dutch oven potatoes. Why have you been holding out on me? I liked the "hot rock" comment also! Good one!

Ask John Marshall over there in Beaver, I bet he knows a little something.

Hell of a bull!!!

I ve heard never eat from a skinny cook ! I have seen you lately Cody. You have had some spare time on your hands, been working out haven't you.

What did Russ Youngs "Goofy" bull score, from off the SWD. I was thinking it was king of the peak, maybe I'm wrong????

>LOL...I love MM. It is
>so comical.

+1 so comical LMFAO we start at level 1 and go to level 10

LAST EDITED ON Aug-20-09 AT 05:48PM (MST)[p]I love the "GOOFY" bull...grossed 434 but didn't net worth a darn. Russ's guide is King of the Peaks IMO.

Peakfreak are you talking about the Ence bull, or another one of SM's bulls that was the 415 bull, and "biggest ever to come of the Desert"? And you haven't answered my question about if SM was guided or not. Maybe the answer is SORT OF. I was kindof wondering how many "CHUCKARS" could fit in a "SHIP", and float "UNDER THE TABLE". Again, MAYBE I AM WRONG. Just wondering if you could set things straight.....I am not accusing, just wondering...Again congrats to Mr. SM, and that is a stud bull!!!

LOL...That was clever MEEW. All three of those guys are as straight as they come. They have to be with all of you guys watching them. SM was not guided, just had a chucker hunter with him. LOL...What the hell does it matter anyways?

Jason Carter??? yeah he knows the area too well, i've ran into him down there more than once. Still think its him who stole two of my trail cameras...

I am not here to throw darts, like I said, Mr. SM is a first class guy, and yes I have met him, and he killed a world class animal. With a bow none the less. I know he has become great friends with chuckars and ships, but if there was money exchanged, or toys, or anything, then they need to be licensed, insured, and pull the proper permits to do it. Everybody else has to reguardless of 1 hunter or 100. Yes Jesse does work for Doyle, and does a damn fine job, but this is different. It was not a Mossback bull or any other bull for that fact, but I am pretty sure all the help did not come free....MAYBE I AM WRONG I am not the one to know or decide. I'm done with this, and CONGRATS AGAIN... AN AWESOME BULL

I guess we got the answer from meew of which hunting co. did SM change too.ALL THOSE CHUCKARS AND SHIPS. MEEW are you the Riddler WHY SO SERIOUS !!!!!

Meew sent you a pm with my cell# Don't know where you got you're info but I had no crew.I mostly hunt by myself, but on a early season elk hunt was thrilled when my son-inlaw and Jon Marshall invited themselves to camp for weekend. The crew you may be talking about was a group of 4 archery deer hunters who came to look at my bull along with several other hunters who helped pack some of the meat off the mtn.I'M sorry I can't remember names but thank you men.Nobody knows the laws any better than me as i'm paranoid about being legal. I would also like to thank the couple that walked in 25 yds.above me right at daylight, and hunkered down till I could get the deal closed.True sportsman! CW, Jesse, and Jon have been my good freinds for 20yrs now. When I get so old I can't get it done by myself I will be calling on them.Meew if you need help finding a bull call me .

What was the final score on the bull. I got alot of film of him in and out of the velvet and i would never put that bull that big, i guess the bigger bulls i am see will score alot higher than i think!

The boys say he's no bigger then 375. Rumor has it.

We need some more pictures. Why is ( MO ) holding out on the whole picture thing. Maybe he's going to sell the photos to Mossback.

Still think Steve killed a heck of a bull. Lets go to Nevada!!!!
