My Late LE Bull

I have finally been able to accomplish a life long dream of hunting and harvesting a monster bull on my own (he is a monster to me). Me and my eight year old son found this bull the day before the opener and we were able to find him about two miles away at 10:20 opening morning. Let me know what you all think.

Nice ...looks like a pig ! Tell us more ,what unit ,nice gun ?
Do you have any picture with a better side view ?
Congrats

I will try and answer some of the questions, my gun is a 30-378, yes it was on the Manti and I do have more pics that I can post later. I have to say that this elk found the nastiest canyon on the unit. It took two days, six guys and two horses to get him out. Not complaining, it was all worth it!

Uh yeah, that's a monster!

BTW: Is that a weatherby accumark 338-378 wby mag?

Congatulations on a great looking bull. I love the light, almost white, hide. I think he would be considered a monster bull to all hunters. Nice!!

Great bull! Congratulations.

Serious question: How does one find the same bull again if it is two miles away. That is amazing to me and I'm sure I could learn something about hunting from your story.

My hunting spot is so secret, not even the elk have found it yet.

That is a great bull Aaron. Congrats. I just got back from Nevada for 9 days and saw your text and now this. That thing is a stud. Way to get it done.

That is an awesome bull! YOu couldn't pass him up no way..
Congrats on a monster...
What a memory for you and your son...

I just wanted to say thank you for all of the positive comments about my bull (and my gun). It just goes to show that Utah has done a great job on the elk heards which makes for exciting hunts. That is not to say that you dont have to get off the four wheelers to harvest a trophy. Thanks again!

fine looking bull, and he does look wide as hell on that packhorse. Love packing pictures.

Thats a Toad! That will make one sweet wall mount!

Sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high, keep your eyes fixed to where the trail meets the sky...

Nice bull Aaron. Just wondering how many shots you fired? Someone in the town below said is sounded like an airstrike up there. Any truth to that?

LAST EDITED ON Nov-17-09 AT 08:20AM (MST)[p]Why do you have to bring that up Greg? Does it matter how many shots it took? Does it make him any less of a bull, or me any less of a hunter? LOL! I am man enough to say that I took six shots connecting on two of them.

Like I said before beautiful bull Aaron, I congratulate you on a stud. It doesnt matter how many times the trigger was pulled, the only thing that matters is that hes on your wall now.

Great bull for a late hunt especially... Nuthn to be ashamed of! He's a good lookn animal. Great pack picture coming out of the bottom.

Buckskinner, thanks so much for the comments. I will admit that this bull exceeded my expectations for the unit and because it was a late hunt. I was wondering if anyone has heard of any other bulls that came off the unit and what they scored. I have been looking on MM and know of the 397 killed by the outfitter on the rifle hunt and a 351 killed on the muzzleloader hunt. Any other bulls that people are aware of and what they scored? Also, just was wondering what people think my bull scored?

Aaron- Your bull is a fantastic bull for that hunt. I would guess the score, but I already have some inside information. I actually would have guessed higher. I also sent you a private message (PM).

WOW - buddy that thing is going to be a monster to pretty much everybody!

NICE!
