Can you guys and gals give me some knowledge on the access and type of terrain of the South Slope Diamond Mtn Elk unit in Utah I've got a semi disabled hunter that wants to burn his points this year before his condition worsens. Need good info on weather we could get him a shoot at a bull with limited mobility. of course he'd shot a 280-300 class if he had the chance so with 8 resident point i think he;d draw this unit and i;d hate to steer him wrong. what do you think?

Diamond is 40 percent private, and most of the easy accessible areas are private. Without access to these areas, it may be tough. If you're willing to pay for access, 2 Dog may be the people to talk to. There are public areas if you do your homework.

How far, if at all, is the hunter able to walk? Can he/she ride an ATV?

If he/she is able to walk 300-400 yards, gentle incline, and ride an ATV, PM and I will give you a location to hunt. It's on public land and there are always elk in this area.

He can ride a ATV and I'd have to cary him 300-400 yards but with a little help we could probably find our way there. Who is 2 Dog? and how can I find them/him?

I hunted this unit with a friend in 2008. We did a lot of scouting and spent about a week hunting it. We were able to take 2 pretty decent bulls off of it. I did see elk you could of shot using a 4-wheeler while scouting but during the season they were in some pretty hard to get to areas.
