i am gathering as much info as i can on this unit i drew the muzzleloader tag this year.and i am wondering if someone can give me some info on what kind of country the elk prefer in this unit. and any pointers i mean any pointers typical elk behavior are they call shy or canyons you reccomend to go to from other people who have hunted it or know itwould be great.i know alot of you have drawn the tag or know someone who has and want to keep your info private. i wish the best of luck to you on your hunts but any info would help me and i would be greatly appreciative

The elk in this unit see a lot of people throughout the summer and fall. I don't know if they are more call-shy in this unit than other units but I know they get hit hard with calling. Best advice I can give you is to get off the roads as far as you can. There's a bunch of elk out there. Find them and have fun.

I know units next to wasatch get pretty call shy,so i would plan on that. And like he said get off the trails and roads as far as you can.I pm you on some areas to check

During the muzzleloader hunt, the big bulls have their harems and are not too interested in leaving their cows to come into your calls. They will bugle and bugle a lot on the Wasatch, but I wouldn't recommend calling back to them. I would locate them by their bugles and then sneak in as close as possible to get a look at the bull and close the deal if he is the one you want.

The muzzy tag on the Wasatch is a great one to have and you should have no problem finding the elk and the bulls. Good Luck!
