unit 66

I have a question, myself and a few more got drawn for unit 66 in colorado, second rifle. this is our first time to hunt this unit. does anyone have any info for the area. we are out of state, Texas, hunters. we have hunted unit 71 two other times. we are going in with an outfitter to a drop camp. thanks for any info, and again nice site.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-05-10 AT 00:59AM (MST)[p]sorry, yes Colorado. we are packing in about 4 miles away from any trail heads. i have been doing a lot of reading on the area and looking at the canyons and ridges with google earth a lot of climbing. we are camping at about 10k

Your Outfitter? Drop camp, Im guessing Mineral MT?
If so just do what John tells you.

looks like we are about 10 mile north west of mineral mountain. up near canibal ridge

Not a big trophy area but holds a good number of bulls, If it your first year hunting this area I would take the first legal bull and keep learning the unit for next year. You should have a good hunt.
