I do wish that if you get a picture of any animal that is killed that it not be posted on a web sit by anyone but the hunter. I know that people are not trying to interfear , but I think that the person that killed the animal has the right to decide where and when the pics will be posted.

Well......
If that person is dumb enough to send pics in an email or a text message, then those pics don't belong to him anymore and become part of the world wide web.
If a person really wants to post pics himself, he will keep the pics to himself until he posts them. That's my take on the whole thing.
I had a picture taken of me with a huge 10lb cutthroat caught out of Strawberry. I sent the pic to some friends and family, and also posted it on a fishing forum. Within a week that picture was on three different websites, and sent back to me in an email 4 times.
Do I care??? No. Once you email/text/post something, you need to realize that it can and probably will go anywhere and everywhere.

Posts without pics are a useless waste of time IMO. Like my dad used to tell me "Without a picture, it's just another Fish Story"

It shows "no class" to post a bull when you know there is a good chance the hunter will post his story in due time.

I agree 100 percent if the person sends it out then that is his choice, but on one case the hunter doesnt use email or texting and the pics were sent out from others that were around and took the pics and sent them with out the hunter even knowing anything about it. any they didnt mean any harm by it. I just think that when a record book animal as taken it should be the choice of the hunter on wich magazine or site it goes on.

I think it is DUMB to post pics that you have no clue about, were not there, and did not have permission to post. If I shoot a good animal it is up to me where and when they show up.
Just because you are sent pics of a monster does not give you the right you post them just because you think its ok.
I thought you learned your lesson last year HJB on posting others pics??? I guess not. How would you feel if you shoot a monster on the pahvant and you wanted to put your story in a mag, or post them in your little "hunt challenge" but then some A$$ hole thinks hey I dont give a crap about this guy or what he wants to do with his story. If this happens to you this year you will be pretty pissed!
Its not your animal, its not your pics, its not your right! If someone sends you an email of a big animal, just be thankful you are in the loop to enjoy looking at the pics. But let the hunter post them and come foward when he is ready!

But then again this is a world where it is all about ME ME ME and who cares what I do to you. pretty sad!

If you want control of your pics, then step up and take control! Don't let others photograph your animal (this may mean covering it with a tarp before you stop to buy gas) and don't send the pics out to anyone. It is pretty simple. If you decide to show it off a little around town or to send pics to "just a couple close friends" you have given up the ability to control pictures of your animal.

You know as well as the next person that picks are going to get out ant it is awfull hard to stop people from taking pics of a record book animal. I agree if it isnt your animal then be gratful you get to see a pic and stay away from posting it, it is none of your business where it goes, only the one who shot it.

Kody, Sorry that I posted your pic. But really, if your buddy takes a pic of you posing in front of your elk, and sends it out to the entire world, maybe you should be getting upset at him. If you really didn't want someone to post it, then make sure your buddies know that BEFORE you let them take the pic.

I received this pic in 2 emails and a couple text messages as well, once it's out there, its out there.

I really hope that you will still tell your story and share your amazing hunt with us.

It really isnt my pic and I am not the one that killed it. I have received hundreds of pics on my phone over the years but it still doesnt give me the go ahead to post that pic where I want. I am not trying to get mad or call anyone out I was just a little disapointed that the hunter didnt get to be the first to put it where he wanted it. and you are right about not letting friends send it out, so I am sorry if i sounded offensive I wasnt trying to be.

If I send it out in an email/text, it's my own fault. It's really simple, if you want your pics kept secret, DONT TEXT, EMAIL, OR POST.

Once that pic leaves your cell phone, it is only a matter of time before it is posted. HJB is right, if you dont want it out there, DON'T EVER SEND IT - NOT TO ANYONE. Not even family. Once it's out there, it is out there and you have no control of it.

I agree with farmer123. There is a big difference between sending texts and emails to family and friends vs some random person posting a picture they happen to get that's not their's on a public website forum. Justify it all you want, it's just pretty classless. Let the hunter decided which website's the pictures go on.

Guess it comes down to how much you trust the people you send the picture to.
This picture looks like the hunter is posing and approves of the photo being taken. So if he sent it to his friends and family and now it's on Monstermuleys, I would be getting mad at them, not the random guy that posted it.
I mean honestly, Everyone should know by now that when you send a text or email to a person, that's never as far as it's going to go.
Is it really that hard to call your family and friends and tell them to come over and check out your trophy? If someone really wants to keep it a secret they can easily do so.
Just be careful who you send your pics too. I forward every pic and video of big bucks/Bulls that I get. That last thing on my mind is "I wonder if the guy that shot this wants it forwarded".
Guess I'm just a gerk

it is one thing to send it through texts and email but it should be the hunters choice what magazine or web site he puts it on, and like I said before the hunter hasnt sent a single pic out it has been everybody els.

you dont know the hunter and everything that took place. It is easy to say that he was posing and wanted the pic out but he didnt have anything to do with it and any sportsman out there is going to take pics of animals like that for memories and to show future generations. So no one can say that they wouldnt be taking pics, just like boots said look at the pic and be greatful that you get to see it.

I've probaly killed around 100 Big Game animals of various species in the last 35 years. I have pictures of my first deer (forkhorn) my biggest deer (6x6 muley buck from Co.) my first Javalena and my biggest bull elk (6x6)and thats about it.

Oh and I dont care if they get posted anywhere by anyone

Dont really have a point with this post , just thought I would throw it out there.

I'm very grateful I got to see the picture, thanks to whoever posted it for all of us to enjoy. Without people like you we would have a very boring forum. :)

Nobody wants to see the stupid "I heard a rumor" Threads, and then never see pics.

We all enjoy seeing pretty animals. The picture I posted up was so bad you couldn't even tell who the guy was. Someone ask about a bull with a extra point after the g 2. Hey is this the bull you are talking about. This is a information highway. No harm was ment towards the fellow. Just someone admiring his big pretty bull. Nothing more than a good job dude ,awesome bull.
After getting the picture on my phone it makes me want to buy his magazine more to read it to find out his story.
No info was on the picture I recieved, like others here. I like others here just wanted to know a little about it! No more no less
Can we all get along here

How about a forum where people can anonymously post pictures of animals they know nothing about so people can speculate about which unit they came from? People that have a problem with posting unknown pictures would know they might be offended and not view the forum. That might be fun...

LOL!
There's a thread titled "Elk in the back of trucks", that comes up at least once a year. People take pics of random trucks driving down the freeway with elk in them. Funny thing is I don't remember one person complaining about any of those pics and it's the same exact thing that people are whining about on this post.
You guys are funny!!!

People love hunting and enjoy seeing pictures of big bulls. I think it's awesome when I see a guy with a big bull in his truck. You always wonder what unit he was on and how big it is. I enjoy seeing other people's success, is that so bad??? Why does everything have to be a secret these days? Secrets are for poachers!!!

This forum gives you braggin rights, so use them and show us all the pics you have!
