Southern Utah nice deer

I got this guy opening morning in southern utah. He was the first buck I saw. My brother had dropped a little 2 point and we had just got through helping him gut and hang his deer. Dad and my brother headed back to get the deer cart to haul it out. I decided to hand around and hunt a couple of draws in the area. I had gone less than 1000 yards when I jumped this guy. He is one of the heaviest deer I have seen in that area for the past 15 years. He was on public lands, in a general unit.

my two year old was thrilled with it...

My son thought it was ok!

I was west of St. George, just north of Utah hill. Lots of hunters and lots of young deer.

OK - I know the area. That's a great buck for down there. Did you see any Desert Bighorn? I sure would love to draw that Virgin River tag. There's some hellacious country down there too!
