Nevada Bucks

Here are a couple of nice bucks that were taken by Monte, (Warbirdum), and his brother Shane in Nevada. i had the opportunity to guide these guys and it was a blast! Thanks guys for making my job easy! I'll let Warbirdum fill in the story.

I posted the wrong number of points on each buck, they were both 5X6's. Freak, it don't take me all day to notice my screw ups now does it! LOL!

Nice job on both bucks! That first one has that big pretty roman nose and the long tines like those Sonora bucks do. A beautiful trophy for sure! Good job Warbirdum!

I was just e-mailed that our bucks were posted this is the first chance I have been on MM today if you can beleive that.
Thanks for all the great comments guys.First of all I want to thank Jeff for providing such a great time in Nevada it was a blast hunting with my brother again he lives in Ohio so we dont get to see each other very often.The hunt was action packed passing tons of bucks each day,we sat ground blinds we also did some hiking and glassed alot.The third day of the hunt we spotted a buck that my brother liked and larger than he has ever taken living in Ohio he does not get to hunt mule deer much so we went after him,it got pretty exciting because the deer he wanted to shoot had tons of does around him and we had to wait for what seemed like an eternity before the does cleared for a shot.He made a good shot and the buck was his and a good time had by all.
I dont know how many bucks I passed but it was alot waiting and hoping for something real special like most of us dream about.One evening after sitting in a ground blind for 5 hours I spotted a nice typical buck coming out but it was to far and the light was fading quick looked to be what I was after a decent 180 type buck.We never did see this deer again and now it was crunch time and the hunt was coming to an end.Jeff and I stalked in on 2 bucks but was caught in the open and could not get any closer he gave me a range of 388 yards to the front of the sage of where they were standing so we guessed they could be at at least 400 yards light was fading quick and I got lucky when I made my shot and put him down.This hunt was more than just harvesting deer it was the hunt to remember for ever my brother has cancer so harvesting these bucks were just icing on the cake.I will have memories about this hunt that will last a lifetime.The camp life was so fun I didnt ever want to leave a good time had by all thats for sure.
I want to say thanks to my brother Shane and my guide Jeff from Triple H.
Oh and ktc I hope the next hunt will be elk next year your wife and myself just need to draw the tags now and we just might have another banner year keep your fingers crossed.

Monte ,congrats on youre hunt,As far as the deer I seen while scouting,You definately harvested good bucks ,I never seen a buck any better than the deer you guys scored on . I seen deer comparable ,but not one better.I personaly would have shot either of the two you guys got .If and when you want to ,fish camp or shed hunt nevada ,call ,we can go and have some fun ,You are welcome in my camp anytime . TOM

That IMFT Flash project down by your house has been taking most of my weekends. My guys are working...6/10's, 7/12's,etc,etc,

Off the a deer and elk hunt on the 11th.

Hey Monte, I just had to post another pics of Shane's buck. The one that we have up just doesn't do him justice. He's a good lookin deer for sure! So I hope you don't mind that it has my ugly mug in it. I just thought this ine showed the deer better.

That other photo of Shane's buck definitely looks better. I think those boys did pretty good. Now Monte needs to show me how to get it done! We decided the other day we hate elk and are muley freaks now.

Shane wanted to kill another buck that came in the first evening, as luck would have it the buck never presented a good shot before it got too dark. It all worled out though. The one he got was much better!

That is a better picture of Shanes buck thanks for putting that one up elkster.The buck he did not get to whack was a good looking typical but the one he got will look good on his Ohio home wall.
I wish I had a muzzleloader deer tag for those units I bet the rut is going crazy right now.
