My wife drew a muzzleloader tag for Deep Creek with only 2 points this year. Previous to this year we had never made a trip out there but in the last month we have made three trips out there because she also drew a early cow tag for the same area. This is definetly different terrain than anywhere I have ever hunted for elk and it has been very fun scouting and learning the area. We have done a bunch of research and bought all the maps so we make sure to stay off the indian land. With this being only her second big game hunt I am trying to make it as rewarding for her as possible. She now will watch hunting shows with me when they are chasing elk and she is counting down the days until her hunt starts. We seem to find sign in most of the areas we have been but we havent found "the spot" yet. I am assuming that the areas where we have found the cows are the places the big bulls will be once the rut begins? Any help on narrowing down the search would be very much appreciated and any pictures of elk harvested from out there during previous hunts that I can show her would be great also.
