Here is the bull I took on the sixth day of the hunt. Not a giant but I am extremely happy with him. It was a very tough hunt this year. Ive spent alot of time in years past up there and this year has been one of the toughest for me. The bulls were talking very little and seemed uninterested in cows. I put a ton of miles on my feet chasing bugles day after day and grew very frustrated not being able to close the deal. Wednsday night we were able to locate a couple bulls that needed a closer look so we decided to hit the spot first thing thursday morning. We started in on where the bulls were at first light and didnt hear or see a thing, I thought maybe they have moved across the ridge until the canyon just errupted with bugles. There was at least three bulls in the canyon we were in chasing one lone cow around running her ragged. We slowly made our way to where all the action was going on and sat and waited. We gave a couple of cow chirps and my bull lost interest in the lone cow and came in to investigate. With a 140 yard shot from my remmington 7mm the rest is history! I couldnt have done it without my good friend George and everyone that helped out with the pack out. Good time and great memories!
