LAST EDITED ON Oct-17-07 AT 08:15PM (MST)[p]Spent a lot of time this summer on the mountain looking for moose mainly (See 50 inch Ogden moose post ) but we also seen a few nice bucks and some elk.
So hopes were high for opening morning. With the storm giving us its all on Saturday we didn't go into our preplanned spots. We hung high in the canyon glassing and hiding behind some pines waiting for better visibility to move down lower. Every once in a while I would walk out from the protection of the trees to glass that side of the canyon that was blocked. Me and my friends son were in the same spot for about 2 or 3 hrs. Then on one my trips to look at the side hill. I noticed a deer up feeding. One look through the glasses was all it took to make up my mind, to try and take this buck. Ranged at 248, I moved a little closer to clear some bushes and let him have it.
Yeah I know, I always to forget to fix the date on the camera.
Guess on the score? We measured it twice but not that good at it.
