LAST EDITED ON Oct-17-07 AT 08:15PM (MST)[p]Spent a lot of time this summer on the mountain looking for moose mainly (See 50 inch Ogden moose post ) but we also seen a few nice bucks and some elk.

So hopes were high for opening morning. With the storm giving us its all on Saturday we didn't go into our preplanned spots. We hung high in the canyon glassing and hiding behind some pines waiting for better visibility to move down lower. Every once in a while I would walk out from the protection of the trees to glass that side of the canyon that was blocked. Me and my friends son were in the same spot for about 2 or 3 hrs. Then on one my trips to look at the side hill. I noticed a deer up feeding. One look through the glasses was all it took to make up my mind, to try and take this buck. Ranged at 248, I moved a little closer to clear some bushes and let him have it.

Yeah I know, I always to forget to fix the date on the camera.

Guess on the score? We measured it twice but not that good at it.

Pretty buck. Great forks and height, with average mass and width. I'd say 175-ish. Great buck man, congrats.

Great looking backs, and I like how the main beam curls down a little on his left side. I guess he scores 170 to 180. Any bulls yet?

We taged one spike(The moose guy got him). Seen 2 herds with about 10 cows each. Got the blood punping for a minute waiting for the bull to walk out , but no luck yet.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-18-07 AT 06:00PM (MST)[p]Like I said in first post we measured it twice. One time we came up with 180 2/8 gross next time 179 and I don't remember. When I got him, I figured about 170.

There is a guy at work who is a P&Y measurer. I'm going to ask him to score it. I will post his score if I get it.
