When you make the small incisions on the tips of all points is there any specific location to cut or do you just make a few small incisions for blood to drain out?? And when you start at the base of the antler and inject the solution into the veins can you really see and feel the veins??? any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

LAST EDITED ON Jul-20-08 AT 06:37PM (MST)[p]You can drill very small holes in the tip of each of the points then find a vein on the base of the antler and start to inject your preservative, continue until the solution runs clear. Find more veins all the way up the antler and inject until there is no more blood left in the antler. I then hang them upside down to let the liquid drain out. I have only done a few but have had 100% success on preserving them. The key is to have antlers that have the velvet in great condition. If it has stared to slip then you would be better off stripping them and having them artificially velvet coated...

Good Luck!!
