I shot a muley this year that has an unusual 3rd horn on his nose. I can't seem to post the pictures. I have 4 pictures to post and can send them to someone by email if they could post to this message for me and then I will give the rest of the story.

Hey Rich,

I've checked my email several times and they still haven't shown up.

I wanted you guys to see this buck I took in November of this year. I have never seen a muley with a 3rd horn like this before. If you look at it close there appears to be a scare that runs from 1 oclock to 7 oclock right across the horn. When I caped him the hide formed around the horn just like it does on the real horns. I looked at the back side of the scare on the cape and couldn't see it. I have seen horns on whitetail and antelope in the past.

I was wondering if it was always there or just a injury that grew over like it is. It feels and looks just like horn and is about the size of a nickel.

And no he is not guted, we gut them into a bucket for coyote bait, two, I blew his leg off on the second shot as he was running right to left after my first shot didn't put him down.

He is also a buck that the inside spread credit will exceed the main beams. He is 29 inches across at his G-4's.

Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Rich

Weird buck 4x3x1?
I wonder what caused that? Injury, genes or disease?
Are you going to do a european? Hope so I'd like to see what that looks like.

Wow a three legged unicorn....Never seen one with three legs before...

Rich,

We shot this buck in Eastern Colorado in December of 2006. He was at least a 4.5 year old buck, so who knows how big that third horn would have grown in the next couple of years.

Thanks T-final, I apologize for committing such a monster muley's violation. It won't happen ever again, I promise

I have one that a customer brought into the shop with almost the exzact same small third horn, I have not mounted it yet so I will try and post a pic of the skull with the 3rd horn

Pretty crazy, It would have been cool to find all three sheds, heeheee.................

Great looking buck. My buddy shot a whitetail a few years back that had the same looking horn on top of it's nose.
