I wanted you guys to see this buck I took in November of this year. I have never seen a muley with a 3rd horn like this before. If you look at it close there appears to be a scare that runs from 1 oclock to 7 oclock right across the horn. When I caped him the hide formed around the horn just like it does on the real horns. I looked at the back side of the scare on the cape and couldn't see it. I have seen horns on whitetail and antelope in the past.
I was wondering if it was always there or just a injury that grew over like it is. It feels and looks just like horn and is about the size of a nickel.
And no he is not guted, we gut them into a bucket for coyote bait, two, I blew his leg off on the second shot as he was running right to left after my first shot didn't put him down.
He is also a buck that the inside spread credit will exceed the main beams. He is 29 inches across at his G-4's.
Has anyone seen anything like this before?
