More BookCliffs Bucks Pics!!!

Hello, me and a buddy went out the other day, I figured I'd share what we saw.

You guys might remember this guy from my last post, this is the 4th time I have seen him.

This is the biggest buck we saw for the day, He's a 4x5 with really good fronts.

I just liked this photo.

This guy has potental.

This guy has a cheater.

Heres a better look at his cheater.

Here is a catus buck, we saw 2 this day, and I have probly seen between 15 and 20 of them out there over the years, I saw 8 different catus bucks one year.

This buck was standing about 50 yards from where the buck in my signature at the end of all my posts was standing.

We saw a couple that were bigger than most of these but I didnt get pics of them.

I have 8 pts like everyone else. Just curious if you are putting in for the Books since you have several posts with good info plus your wifes buck from this year I think. Any how good posts keep em coming!!!

From what I understand bucks like those are about as good as you can expect from this unit right?

This is a tough choice, my wife has 11 NR deer points , to get a better tag than the Book Cliffs will probably take another 25 years so do you cash in or wait forever.

I would cash in on san jaun elk ridge and forget the books with 11 points!

Bess more than half of the catus bucks I have seen have been just like this one. I have seen a couple that acually has some growth but 90% of them look like this guy just a ball of horn on top of there heads.

Trphymuleyhntr, Yes I will be putting in for the books this year, it is a great unit with lots of deer, But these type of bucks are the norm out there, I have spent years out there getting to know the unit and I really only know a small area. The quallity has droped over the years as Bobcat said we used to see monsters every year. Now your hard pressed to find a truly mature deer. Good luck if you decide to put in for there. And I dont know what your talking about, Im not married, you might be thinking of OldJake his wife got a stud N/T with the sportsmans tag on the henerys this year.

Huntdude, I think you should be able to find a better unit than the books with 11 points, at least I hope so, I really only have knowldge of the books I cant say what units are better but you should be able to find one.

Thanks for the info guys, I hunted Elk Ridge in '97 and it was poor then. I hear it's coming back some, it might be a way for her to use her points.

LOL, I never noticed that, no thats just a sage brush in the back ground but damed if it dont look like a droptine. Hes just a 3x3 that forks in the back, I have a bunch more pics of him.
