Wyoming area/zone recommendation

Looking for some recommendations for application in Wyoming. There will be two of us and we each have one preference point.

I have done lots of research/reading on various sites and in the Eastman magazine and most recommendations are for trophy bucks. No necessarily after a "trophy" (trophy is in the eyes of the hunter) as we have never been on a mule deer hunt and just want to have the opportunity to go.

I want to apply for a zone/area that:

We can draw with one point
Offers plenty of public ground
Size of buck is not as critical as seeing deer - willing to work to get a better buck, but just want an opportunity to hunt
Prefer the more open terrain, but open to suggestions
Is a region permit better than a specific zone?

I have been looking at Region E - any thoughts.
