I have one with the VH Reticle on my 7 mag. I Zero at 200 or 300 and on 14x it's dead on with the holdover crossbars every 100 yards up thru 600 or 700 with a 139 gr. Hornady SST or Interbond doing 3250 out of my Model 700 7MM Rem Mag. It is absolute death on Muleys & Whitetails.
The same reticle in a VX3 LR 6.5 - 20 x 40 gives me basically the same results in my Rem 300RUM Sendero, depending on the load, of course. You can fine tune the system depending on your load of choice.
The B&C is fine too, and was actually designed for big game hunting, where as the VH reticle was meant for varmits. I have a couple of scopes set up with each, and with a little time and good light, I like the VH for extended range shooting with flat shooting rifles. I did get in a bind once with a deer on the move during low light... the thin wire in the VH can be harder to find in this situation compared to the B&C's heavier reticle.
I am thinkering with a Leupold VX3 LR 6.5 - 20 x 50 with the VH reticle AND custom elevation dial for a 7MM RUM. Yeahboy!

I just put one on a Rem LSS in 300RUM and I'm still in the process of setting up the dial in between working away from home. The scope does come with a MOA dial, and you get one free dial from Leupold. There is a promo free 2nd dial offer going on but you must purchase the scope and get your details in to Leupold before Jan. 1, 2011. You still have one day.
I am a Leupold guy, but the Zeiss Conquest has also served me well recently. I have a couple in 4.5 x 14 x 44, one with the Rapid Z 800 reticle, and I it's good glass in a neat package. I did find out the hard way that they WILL NOT modify a reticle for you in your existing scope. Chalk another one up for Leupold, they'll do just about anything you can dream up!
