rifle hunt

hey so im from socorro new mexico and this year will be my first rifle hunt ever. all my life i have used my bow, i also had one ML hunt. i am hopeing some one on here could give me some info on what it is like hunting in nov rather then jan in the middle of the rut? thanks for any help you may be able to offer.

Get high and glass early. Works on any species in the West.

Find the does and the bucks will be in the general area.

Most important thing for a bow hunter on his first ever rifle hunt, SHOOT YOUR RIFLE!
havent met to many bow hunters that couldnt figure out where and how to hunt in a specific time of year though the last poster gave you good advice, but I have known many that couldnt hit a bull in the ars at 30 yards with a rifle when they couldnt miss if they tried with their bow. Be prepared to see the unexpected, as you know buck's travel during the rut and even if you do much scouting, Mr. Boone and Crocket could show up at any time, and he could come from many miles away.
Where as during the Archery season's you are usually hunting resident buck's. Do your home work and listen to the guy's on here, they have helped me out BIG TIME. Hope it help's. booner
